Here’s an invitation you can copy and paste in an email to a new retiree.

Attention New Retirees!

You are invited to attend the DMARSPA (Des Moines Area Retired School Personnel Association) monthly meeting/luncheon .

All meetings are on Thursday at Forte Banquet and Conference Center, 615 3rd Street (south door), on the 4th Thursday of each month-with these exceptions: no meeting in November and meetings are on the 2nd Thursday in December, January, and February.

Any retired employee of the nation's public and private schools and colleges shall be eligible for membership, as well as spouses of those employees.

Annual dues of $18 are payable by June 30 of each year. Make your check payable to DMARSPA and sent to the treasurer: Sandra Petree, 313 Lincoln St., #306, West Des Moines, IA 50265.

As a new retiree, your first meeting is complimentary, but, you will need to make a reservation at least one week before the monthly meeting (phone Dee at 515-221-2759). Monthly meals are regularly $15.
