Special meeting DMARSPA Executive Board February 25, 2016 The Executive Board met to discuss the scholarship issue - should the number of scholarships remain at two or should the number be increased to three? Also discussed were ways to reduce spending and increase funds. It was decided to keep the number of scholarships at two until we see if we have enough funds to cover an additional scholarship. Discussed were expenses. We have to cover equipment and set up. It was agreed to have the speaker bring their own projector or Sherry Wilkinson would bring hers. Joellen Snyder said her husband could also obtain a projector. We could also use the wall for a screen. Currently, we have been paying for guests throughout the year, regardless of whether they were retired school personnel. It was decided that DMARSPA would only pay for retired school personnel at the June meeting. If someone cannot attend the June meeting, he/she could bring the letter indicating they are newly retired at a later date. A suggestion was made that school personnel who did not have a letter, would have to pay for lunch; but would receive their money back, if they joined. Dues were also discussed. A suggestion to increase dues to $20 was debated. It was agreed to keep dues at $18. Justine asked that people pay dues by June 24.
